WORK EXPERIENCE

Texas State University

Teach Beginning Drawing and Figure Drawing
-Set up still life scenes (beginning drawing) and models (figure drawing) for students to   draw. 
-Introduce students to basic drawing concepts such as line, shape, value, composition, perspective, etc. while also introducing a variety of drawing mediums.
-Instruct students how to draw in a representational manner.
-Work individually with the students to encourage artistic responsibility in their choices of picture making.

1999-PRESENT
Lead Animator
Flat Black Films

Worked as an animator/designer and conceptual artist in both art and commercial work at Flat Black Films; a collaborative animation studio.  These projects have been shown in international film festivals, such as ResFest and Sundance, and in museums, such as the Scottsdale Contemporary Art Museum and the MOMA. Some of the projects have had theatrical releases, and have been components of programs on PBS.

Akbank animation campaign
Animator/Lead Animator
-animated segments of 5 animated commercials for a leading bank in Istanbul,Turkey.

2005-2008
Charles Schwab “Talk to Chuck” animation campaign
Lead Animator
-Individual designer and sole animator of 7 commercials that have been created and aired on national television.
-Consistently executed 20 seconds of animation on extremely tight schedules that have deadlines of sometimes 2 weeks.

Jan./Feb. 2008
F/X Network, “Dirt” promos and title
Animation Director/Project Manager
-Directed the animation and managed project for 6 promotional commercials and subsequent title sequence for the Courtney Cox television show “Dirt”.  Managed 4 animators on a rush project that had an extremely tight deadline.  Served as the main communicator between the animators in Austin and the producers in California.

June 2004- January 2005
Scanner Darkly Production
Lead Animator
-Was one of five people to choose, interview, train and hire 30 animators for the production of the movie Scanner Darkly
-Created designs for characters that were used throughout the movie
-Managed a team of 6 animators
-Designed and worked on a promotional trailer for the movie

January 2000-November 2000
Waking Life
Lead Animator
-Designed the style and animated two major segments of the film: the Julie
Delpy/Ethan Hawke scene (reprise of Before Sunrise characters) and the Guy                       Forsythe (Ukulele man) scene

Teaching Assistant in a wide variety of classes.  Specifically: beginning painting, beginning drawing, transmedia, photo design, and performance
                  -Participated in group critiques and individual critiques
                  -Taught basic tips on making and creating paintings/drawings, etc.
-Helped to foster and grow the students existing interest in their art making process while introducing new concepts, unfamiliar and familiar artists, and possible new ways of seeing their artwork.
